Why Choose IPL for Acne?

Light-based acne therapy that targets bacteria, inflammation and oil production simultaneously - a non-pharmaceutical approach

IPL Active Acne Treatment uses specific wavelengths of intense pulsed light to address the three main drivers of breakouts at once. The blue light component targets and destroys P. acnes, the bacteria responsible for inflammatory acne. The red light component reduces inflammation and supports skin healing. The combined treatment also helps regulate sebaceous gland activity to reduce excess oil production. Particularly suited to clients dealing with active inflammatory acne who prefer a non-pharmaceutical approach, or whose skin doesn't tolerate topical treatments well. A course of 6 sessions two weeks apart is the standard protocol - single sessions $250, package of 6 $750. Performed by a registered nurse.

How IPL Clears Acne

A targeted, non-antibiotic approach to achieving clearer, healthier skin.

THE PROCESS

What to Expect

A simple, nurse-led course built around your skin.

1

Consultation & Acne Assessment

Your clinician evaluates your acne type, severity, skin history, and any previous treatments to confirm IPL suitability and design a personalised treatment plan.

2

Skin Cleanse & Preparation

The treatment area is thoroughly cleansed and a cooling gel applied. Protective eyewear is provided before the Venus Versa handpiece is calibrated to your skin type and acne severity.

3

IPL Treatment Session

Precise pulses of blue-spectrum light are delivered across the affected areas. You may feel a mild warm sensation with each pulse. Sessions typically take 15–25 minutes depending on the treatment area.

4

Recovery & Treatment Schedule

Mild redness may occur but typically subsides within a few hours. Your clinician provides aftercare instructions including sun protection, and schedules your next session — treatments are usually spaced 2–4 weeks apart.
