THE SCIENCE
What Is a TCA Peel?
TCA (trichloroacetic acid) is a clinical-grade peel that resurfaces deeper than gentle peels, prompting renewal that targets pigmentation, scarring and texture.
A TCA peel uses trichloroacetic acid to remove the outer layers of skin in a controlled way, prompting your skin to renew itself. It works deeper than gentle exfoliating peels, which makes it effective for pigmentation, melasma, acne scarring, sun damage and rough or uneven texture.
At Amirova we offer TCA peels at a range of strengths, including Cosmo Peel 12% and 18% and Cosmo TCA 18%, plus a TCA combined with Mela Peel Forte for stubborn pigmentation. The right strength is matched to your skin type and concern at a nurse-led assessment, and a course of treatments is usually recommended for the best result. Expect visible peeling for several days after a stronger peel, with fresher, more even skin underneath.
TCA CROSS for Acne Scars
For deeper, pitted acne scarring such as ice-pick scars, TCA CROSS applies a higher concentration of TCA precisely into individual scars to stimulate collagen and soften their appearance over a course of sessions. It is a focused technique, assessed and performed by a registered nurse.
